About Jess

Jess's professional journey began as a secondary school English teacher, where she discovered her deeper passion for supporting student wellbeing. This led her to pursue psychology studies at the University of Melbourne. Jess has gained valuable experience in diverse mental health settings including community mental health and clinical research environments. She established Garden Path Psychology in 2021 with the hope of providing additional support to the community.

Beyond the therapy room, Jess finds joy in adventures with her dog Seymour, falling off walls (bouldering), and unwinding with both excellent and questionable television. Her interests also extend to politics and activism, art, literature, and good food – all of which enrich her understanding of the human experience.

Jess is a registered clinical psychologist (AHPRA: PSY0002253450).

GDipPsych, GDipPsych(Adv), MPsych(ClinPsych).

Standing Against Genocide and Supporting Palestinian human Rights

Practicing from an anti-colonial framework, Jess acknowledges the ongoing impacts of systemic oppression on community health and well-being. This includes strongly opposing the ongoing genocide perpetrated by the Israeli government on Palestinian people. Jess believes in safety, liberation, and self-determination for all people, and this stance is core to her work in therapy, and in personal, community, and collective spaces. Jess stands in solidarity with health workers in Gaza, and believes in a free Palestine.

Garden Path Psychology is named in loving memory of my cousin, Miles Colman. May our minds ever twist and turn. You are dearly missed.
